soft hands

so the band has been home for three months now which is quite refreshing. i sleep in my own bed everynight, wake up to a hot shower, my toilet is not mobile, i wear clean clothes everyday, i'm surrounded by friends, my family is practically at arms reach, cook my own meals, i can choose to got to bed at a decent hour ... but ... i haven't played my insturment in 3 fucking months. i've lived through a hiatus of this length before and sat down behind my kit without any rust or cobwebs to deal with ... but i've just about reached my limit. i've attempted to assemble a band that turned out to be unrealistic (re: twins at night ... bad availibilty and timing) have been a offered a gig that didn't seem suiting (re: crystal castles ... i just don't wanna be on the road, you know?) and i'm just not the type of player that can sit in a practice space on my own studying theory and rudiments. that's what i carried away from my highschool career. i graduated with 21 mother ass music credits. i need to communicate with other players. sure, i've been doing that with some friends through drum machines, sequencers and other toys (hardly enough) but i need to SWEAT! i need to PLAY the damn DRUMS! i was scrolling through my phone today but nobody seems to be available and nobody seems to fit the roll ... except ... tara white. i walked by rotate today with larissa where we saw kev smokin' out front. while they chatted i took the opportunity to pop my head in and see if tara was workin'. she was. her boyfriend andrew is a drummer and i knew they had plans to start jamming. she also mentioned that he was quite busy with the four other bands he's currently playing with and that she has a space that her and i could make noise in. she'll keep me posted. fingers crossed. casually jamming is what the doctor is suggesting at the moment.

feelin' february

i discovered an amazing tv link site. you can stream just about anything. i never learned how to torrent and now i never will! god bless the internet. who knew dr. who had over 20 seasons?

i missed pam's b-day house party because someone got too drunk at a previous dinner party and i had to take care of them. ha! the dinner party was a great one and i made up for my absence on a "boy's night out" (me, greg and chris really do make for a great trio) we stopped into the drake underground for pam's lipstick cherry nite to wish her well. i somehow felt invincible that night. hard to explain but it was really really fun. happy b-day PAMMM!

a band called the midway state has approached me about designing their band logo. interesting request. the singer is a big bss fan and is a fan of the artwork i've done for arts & crafts and bss, which is nice. they got signed to interscope worldwide. i'm not savvy with software programs so i'm gonna bring greg with me to the meeting and if they want us to move forward then i'm going to include greg in the project. if they like what we deliver they may ask us to lay out their album. could be fun.

jaz and i got anther song to remix gig! it's a song by you say party! we say die! ... as far as remixing is concerned, there's alot that can be done with this new song. it's called "monster" and is going to be on their new record.

joris is moving back to toronto in april. holy mother fuck have i ever missed that man.

it's kheaven's birthday today and he's gonna be playin' letterman tonite!

april's "ain't no joke" party will be held at the concert hall (EDIT: we're now looking into holding it at the opera house. the cost of renting the concert hall is 50K!) ... and will include big player guest dj's X and mastermind. that's HUGE! we're gonna design the poster in real vintage fashion. sammy has done our previous and current poster's. april's will look more like this:

i'm gonna go make myself some dinner.

trapped in the shower

i wasn't really sure how i felt after watching this. um ... ya.

colours and colours and colours and

larissa bought me a crap load of gauche and water colours. super extra wicked amazing! i've never painted with them before. the water/gauche ratio is a delicate procedure. and water colour paper is really really sensitive. i'm using a plate as my palette. these are a couple of simple little painting/drawing type thingy's i did while watching the latest episode of LOST. that show is getting CRAZY. it's been awhile. i heard it was getting kinda weak but not last night's episode. holy WOW. i've been told they're gonna wrap it up soon. anyway. enjoy?

i was SO close to bringing us to the raptors game last night. they were playing the nets which is HUGE because (former raptor) vince carter plays for them. the game was long sold out. i'm goonna try to get tickets for a game this weekend. the toronto edition of hip hop karaoke throws down tonite at the boat. i've been wanting to check this since i got word of it months ago. wish khev and jaz were in town for this one.

a laser called quest

sometimes kevin has the greatest ideas. his most recent ----> surprise-birthday-party-laser-tag! for feist's birthday he called up her friends and family, piled them into a rented school bus and sent them off to mississauga for a couple of sweaty rounds at LASER QUEST. i had never been before. i will ABSOLUTELY be going back. the laser play ground is a two floor, partially mirrored maze lit only by black lite. all you really see are everyones blinking targets, they're crazy eye whites and teeth. freaky deeky. this shit turned me into a stealthy animal. each 15 minute round felt closer to an hour. i got SO into it. my technique the first round was pretty immediate. i ranked 9 out of 30. pretty sweet, right? but i got SLAUGHTERED in the second round. 17th. boooo ... i wanna make it a monthly trip. after laser tag was a fresh pre ordered sushi dinner. i had sushi for lunch and i ate dinner at like 5 so, i really wasn't hungry for sushi at 8:30 ... but i ate it anyway. i feel like i weigh 500 pounds today. but a laser tag virgin i am NO MORE!
